Rev. Debbie Dehler

Debbie comes to St. Alban’s from her home state of Minnesota. She is a relatively new priest with a long Episcopal history. She was ordained a transitional Deacon in 2014 and a priest in June 2015. While St. Alban’s is her first church call, she has been active in the Episcopal Church her entire life, serving in lay ministry and leadership roles from acolyte to choir to vestry and senior warden. She was also active in diocesan roles in Minnesota, serving on the Bishop’s Council, and as a delegate to annual conventions.

Around 2005, Debbie began exploring a call to ordained ministry. She was discerned to be a priest in 2010, graduated with a Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary, and served several churches in Minnesota as an intern, assisting priest and supply priest prior to being called to St. Alban’s in 2016.

Debbie lives in Lawrence with her husband Jeff and their two cats. They have two grown children, Ray and Erin. You can learn more about Debbie’s perspectives on faith through her blog,

Mike Scime – Deacon

A long-time member at St. Alban’s, Deacon Mike Scime is originally from Buffalo, NY. He came to Indiana to earn a Master’s degree in Public Administration from IU-Bloomington. Mike has been a part of St. Alban's ministry since 1992; serving on vestry and as Senior Warden. Mike has been partnered with the Rev. Todd Kleffman for 24 years, and married for 3 years.

Mike began exploring his calling to ministry while at St Alban’s in 2002. Careers intervened but Mike continued to keenly feel God’s call to ministry. So, through focused discernment and training while at St. Johns in Crawfordsville, Mike was ordained a Deacon in the Episcopal Church in 2011. Mike's varied careers outside of ordained ministry also reflect his desire to help others: community liaison for the Railroad Industry, various roles in state and city government, Co-Director of Dayspring Center for homeless families, and Director of the Montgomery County Youth Service Bureau.

Mike returned to serve as clergy at St. Alban's in 2012. Since retiring from full-time employment, Mike now devotes more time to serving as St. Alban's Deacon and is working with the Outreach Group specifically to further our Peace Garden community project. As our Deacon, Mike invites you into conversation around God's call in your life.
